Tânia da Graça (Évora, 1987) is a visual artist based in Évora. She studied at the University of the Arts London before completing a BA in Fine Arts and Multimedia at the University of Évora, where she is now undertaking a Master’s in Artistic Practices in Visual Arts. Her work has been published in A MAGAZINE, including a collaboration with the Museu Nacional do Azulejo.
"Experimentation and investigation are at the core of my practice. I enjoy testing new materials and seeing how they respond to one another, often working with themes of memory and legacy. Trial and error play an important role, and I have learned to welcome the unexpected, which at times brings a slightly surreal quality into the work.
Recently, illustration has become part of my practice through an editorial design class I took while doing my BA. While narrative in my studio work emerges through process and concept, illustration asks for a more structured form of storytelling. It has become a separate strand, running alongside my other work and opening up new possibilities for how I approach image-making."
