I love gel plate printing for its flexibility and the freedom it brings to my printmaking. It’s a technique that lets me play with textures from all kinds of materials—like tree leaves, stencils, stamps, or even everyday household objects—each adding its own unique touch to the print.
I also enjoy the variety of media I can use on the gel plate, like acrylics, watercolours, alcohol inks, and Posca pens. This lets me experiment with color, transparency, and opacity in both spontaneous and controlled ways. By mixing different materials and layering them in new combinations, I can create subtle contrasts and unexpected colors that bring energy to the piece. For me, gel plate printing is all about experimenting and finding new ways to build depth and texture in my work.
