(IN)ANIMATE IDENTITIES

This photo piece explores the tension between what lasts and what fades—the familiar feeling I get when looking at buildings that have been around much longer than I have, as if they’re quietly telling stories I can almost understand. As I captured their forms and textures, I began to notice how some things simply endure longer than others.

In this town, despite its beauty and celebrated status, there are spaces increasingly marked by neglect, slipping into decay as they go unnoticed day to day. Once grand, they now carry a strange, almost grotesque beauty shaped by years of disregard. This project is my way of capturing those overlooked forms, bringing out the mix of life and stillness in these “objects” and uncovering the layers of meaning that time and neglect have left on them.
